About Krista Vaicaitis
Located in Piermont, New York, Krista Vaicaitis is a passionate individual with a history in the education field. Krista has always been curious about the world around her and is very thankful for having had the opportunity to impart this same inquisitive nature to students of hers. She served primarily as a secondary learning support teacher among schools located in Grand Cayman, Florida and New York.
One of Krista’s favorite memories from this time was when she got to chaperone a Model UN trip to Chicago. This incorporated her deep love of travel with her teaching career. Although she has since left this career path, Krista still remains deeply fond of her time serving in this role. However, she is excited to see what opportunities lie ahead in her biggest passion: travel.
Though many would say that travel is a passion of theirs, Krista Vaicaitis takes this to the next level in her life. She ensures that she partakes in new travel experiences throughout each year. Whether near or far, Krista recognizes that any community outside of her own has the potential to open her eyes to cultural differences and introduce her to diverse people. Not only is visiting these places part of what brings her joy, but reviewing and telling others about her experiences is also a large part of her passion. Given her natural talent in writing, Krista would be happy to write about travel for a living someday.
Traveling allows individuals to be opened up to a worldview that is different from what they are used to. These experiences are pivotal for personal growth and exposure. Krista Vaicaitis is very intentional in the way she travels. Exploring new cultures is one of the most important things to her throughout all her journeys. Whether internationally or nationally, each community will have various differences and similarities that are worth being celebrated. When many people think of culture, they picture food, music and tradition. All of these encompass culture to a T, but Krista also defines culture by a community’s values and attitudes that follow specific norms.
Throughout her travels, Krista enjoys making connections with others who may have been raised in an entirely different environment than she was. She enjoys finding common ground with friends in different cultures and being able to celebrate their traditions with them. It is one thing to bond over shared passions, but it is another to bond over experiencing another’s language, food and overall culture.
Krista Vaicaitis is one who celebrates various ethnicities, geographic locations and cultures. She is inspired by these differences and intentionally honors these differences in her personal life. Although the pandemic put a slight pause on Krista’s travel plans, she is thankful to see the world slowly returning to normal and is excited to pursue countless travel opportunities in the future.
